Mrs Lord's Class

'Do to others as you would have them do to you'  Luke 6:31

Welcome to Year 3 / 4. Our class teacher is Mrs Lord and our teaching assistant is Mrs Gibson.

Homework is given out every Friday and needs to be returned by the following Tuesday. Homework is usually reading comprehension, arithmetic or consolidation of maths work.

Spellings are given out each Monday and are tested the following Monday. Children are expected to spend time learning their spelling at home and at school.

Children’s reading books are checked every Monday and Friday but can be changed any day of the week. Children are expected to read at least twice a week and have their record signed. Children are responsible for changing their own reading book and putting it in the box to be checked. We encourage children to read for pleasure as well as reading their school book.

PE is taught in school on Tuesdays and Fridays but PE kits should be in school all week. We will also be attending swimming lessons later in the year.

Children are taught music by Wigan Music Service. They need to remember their instrument every Wednesday as they will be working hard to learn their new instrument. The children enjoyed showing off what they have learned so far in their Christmas concert and can't wait for the next ones.
